Wind Spirit ~

You can’t watch them run wild without being in awe of their beauty.

Their spirits pulling them forward with happy abandon.

 

It wasn’t the Mustangs who were the ‘Misfits’ in the movie – it was Marilyn who couldn’t

abide the idea of them becoming dog food,  no matter how wrangler Gable justified it.

 

For she was fighting for more than their lives but for their freedom –

the freedom to run, to breed, to live!

 

She was fighting for the soul of something that lives in all of us. 

Something reawakened in her wrangler friends who had long ago forgotten

that their spirits too had once run wild with the wind.
